Controller Design for a 1000 MW Ultra Super Critical Once-Through Boiler Power Plant
نویسندگان
چکیده
A large-scale 1000 MW once-through type ultra super-critical boiler power plant, requires investigation for the development of an analyzable model for use in the development of an intelligent control system. Using data from the power plant, a model is realized using dynamically recurrent neural networks. For proper operation, the plant must be broken into smaller subsystems that are each modeled by a separate neural network. Modified predictive optimal control is then used to drive the plant to desired states. Due to the computational intensity of modified predictive optimal control, it was rendered unviable by the computation time required for each time step of the controller. As an alternative, a reference governor was implemented along with a PID feedback control system that utilizes intelligent gain tuning.

Conceptual design of a waste heat recovery cycle is carried out in attempt to enhance the thermal efficiency of a steam power plant. In the recovery system, super-critical an CO2 is employed as the working fluid operating in a Brayton cycle. Low grade heat rejected by the flue gases through the stack is used as the primary heat source, while a secondary heat exchanger utilizes th...
متن کاملModeling and Control of Water Level in Boiler Drum for Nassiriyah Thermal Power Plant
The boiler drum process is a nonlinear, complex and multivariable process which includes significant time delay. Therefore, the control on the water level in the drum is not easy and ideal. The first objective of this paper is to model the drum water level referring to 210 MW power unit for Nassiriyah thermal power plant. The second objective is to study the water level controller operation wit...

متن کاملBoiler Modelling and Optimal Control of Steam Temperature in Thermal Power Plants
Achieving accurate control of main steam temperature is a very difficult task in thermal power plants due to the large process lag (8 to 10 minutes) associated with the superheater system and there exists a deviation of ± 10 °C in closed loop control. A control oriented boiler model and an appropriate optimal control strategy are the essential tools for improving the accuracy of this control sy...
متن کاملAn Improved System for Utilizing Low-Temperature Waste Heat of Flue Gas from Coal-Fired Power Plants
In this paper, an improved system to efficiently utilize the low-temperature waste heat from the flue gas of coal-fired power plants is proposed based on heat cascade theory. The essence of the proposed system is that the waste heat of exhausted flue gas is not only used to preheat air for assisting coal combustion as usual but also to heat up feedwater and for low-pressure steam extraction. Ai...
